Dustin Price was sentenced to serve a life sentence plus 40 years for the
March 2008 shooting death of a 22-year-old pregnant mother. Following a
trial, a jury convicted Price, 27, in late May of first-degree felony murder,
three counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of reckless
endangerment, as well as weapon and drug possession charges. A jury
convicted Price of firing several shots at a home on Linden Green  where five people, including Heather Silas, her boyfriend, her baby and two others, were inside at the time. One of the bullets struck Silas in the back as
she tried to reach her baby. A co-defendant, 32-year-old Christopher
Alexander, is scheduled to go on trial in February for his alleged role in the
shooting. Police arrested Price in the fall of 2008 on attempted criminal homicide charges connected to an early morning shooting on Central Pike
that injured the driver and a passenger of pickup truck.
