A Davidson County judge Wednesday afternoon sentenced convicted killer Demeko Duckworth to serve at least 108 years in prison for the July 2010 murder
of his girlfriend, Asia Wade, and her cousin, Clarence Goins. A jury in February found Duckworth guilty of the two first degree murders, of one count of attempted homicide and one count of employing a firearm during a felony. Wednesday's hearing was to determine whether the sentences would be served consecutively or concurrently, and what the length of entence would be for the attempted homicide conviction. Criminal Court Judge Cheryl Blackburn sentenced Duckworth to two terms of at least 51 years each, to be served consecutively, a 22-year sentence for the attempted homicide to be served concurrent to the life sentence, and a six year sentence on the gun charge, to be served consecutive to the life sentence.
