A 22-year-old was found shot to death after neighbors heard several shots fired in east Nashville Sunday night. The shooting happened on South Sixth Street in the James Cayce public housing development around 9:30 p.m. The victim, identified as Dorell Hayes, was shot once in the chest and pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police said they did not immediately know a tive have suspect. Witnesses reported seeing a gold Mercury Grand Marquis leave the area at a high rate of speed.
