North Precinct and Gang Unit detectives continue to investigate he circumstances surrounding Sunday afternoon’s gunfight in the 3000 block of Brick Church Pike that claimed the lives of convicted felons Jeremy Frelix, 22, and Steven Kimbro, 23. Kimbro was driving a Toyota sedan with at least one passenger, convicted felon Christopher Bridges, 20, of Chesapeake Drive. Kimbro was
at the Citgo at 3050 Brick Church Pike when the gunfire erupted at 12:30 p.m. Frelix was fatally shot in the parking lot where he died. Wounded, Kimbro drove off and crashed a short time later into the side of the Dollar General Store across the street. Kimbro died on the
scene. Bridges was transported by personal vehicle to Baptist Hospital with a
gunshot wound to his hand. North Precinct officers recovered two guns in the
area.
