NASHVILLE,
Tenn. - A Nashville woman was shot to death inside her home near the Tennessee
State Fairgrounds.
Metro police said 30-year-old Tameka Vines'
6-year-old daughter found her body Wednesday morning. Vines' 11-year-old
daughter was also inside the home on Magnolia Road. Police are looking for a person of interest, but they haven't released a name. Vines'  relatives are still in shock abou.t the murder in South Nashville's Vine Hill development. They said the single mother of two worked hard. "Her daughter came in saying she was in a lot of blood," said Jameia Moon, a cousin. "I just ran out the house. I'm running through the backyard calling 911." Moon said after entering the she saw a blanket covered Vines' body. Moon said she lay in a pool of blood with a gunshot in her head. "Tamika was
such a sweet person, I couldn't think of any reason to kill her like that," said
Dannanna Morency, an aunt. "It doesn't appear they have any knowledge
or that they witnessed the shooting," said Metro police spokeswoman Kristin
Mumford. "Just simply the 6-year-old walked in and found her mother."
No one heard a gunshot, only a loud thud that startled Vines' older child.
"Her daughter was asleep and she said she heard a loud noise and thought it
was in her dream," Moon said. "She said it sounded like a cabinet closing."
Vines' family doesn't feel this was a random shooting "The way her
body was covered up, it seems like it was someone that knew her," Morency
said.  Despite it being a relatively safe neighborhood, at least one of
Vines' neighbors said she wants to move."I'm ready to go," Lisa Lowery
said. "I don't want to stay here no more. Just too much going on."  Vines moved to Nashville from Chattanooga about a year ago. Her family
said she wanted a new start. They said she had a new job and was active in her
church.

Her daughters will stay her aunt until other relatives arrive.
The oldest girl will probably go with her grandmother, while the youngest will
go with her father, who has joint custody.
